FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR DEFINED

Plans and directs the activities of the Fiscal Services Department, including the school budget and fiscal management and reporting to the schools student transportation, insurance, risk management, and other related programs, to provide fiscal management assistance to all Preparatory & Professional School departments, and to provide highly complex staff assistance to Preparatory & Professional School.

DUTIES

Directs and participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to the Fiscal Services. Selects, supervises, trains and evaluates Fiscal Services. Directs and participates in the preparation and administration of the schools budget. Evaluate new fiscal and transportation system developments in view of the Preparatory and Professional School plans and objectives, identifies potential areas of improvement achievable through new and improve systems. Plans, directs and reviews the activities of the schools budget process including preparation and control, student transportation system and insurance programs. Prepares the school's budget by estimating revenues and expenditures to budgeted allotments; makes budgetary presentations at various stages prior to final Board approval. Provides needed business services for special education programs in such areas as applications preparation, budgeting, analysis, implementation, and reimbursement. Performs special financial or statistical research or analytical studies to assist administration or the Board in the formulation of policies and planning new or revised programs. Prepares or supervises preparation of various financial and statistical reports. Prepares school enrollment projections. Supervises the personnel position control system. Uses personal transportation for travel to sites where attendance is required.

BUDGET OFFICER DEFINED

To assist in the preparation and supervision of the school's budget and insurance programs; financial reports; and to provide responsible technical staff assistance to the teachers and Board, and other departments.

Confers with Board

Exercises judgment over technical and functional supervision over technical and clerical staff.

DUTIES

Prepares the Preparatory and Professional School's budget by estimating revenues and expenditures based upon review and analysis of a variety of pertinent factors. Controls expenditures to budgeted allotments. Conduct budgetary presentations at various stages prior to final Board approval. Provide needed business services for special educational programs in such areas as application preparation, budgeting, analysis, and reimbursement. Supervise the school's insurance program. Perform special financial or statistical research or analytical studies to assist Board in the formulation of policies and planning of new or revised programs. Prepares and direct the preparation of various financial and statistical reports. Directs the cost distribution system and assigns account numbers to transactions. Supervises the revolving cash fund; authorizes checks and reconciles funding. Manages and prepares budgets and interpreting school policies and procedures related to the insurance programs. Attends various conferences and meetings.
